Wintry Play and Tea

A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas:

“It snowed last year too:

I made a snowman and my brother knocked it down

and I knocked my brother down and then we had tea.”

I hope each of you have begun the new year with the delight

of play and then some tea.

Happy New Year, dear friends!

Happy weekend too!

By the way, there is no snow here right now.

It has been unseasonably warm, perfect for a walk.

I can dream I am sitting by the fire, sipping tea, and watching the snow fall.

Marilyn these took my breath away for a moment thinking it was today in your lovely garden! No snow here yet either, but often January through March can bring some. It's unseasonably warm actually and yesterday I noticed bluebell and daffodil shoots pushing up, far too early! I

I walked yesterday morning and ended up getting a guided tour through my back yard neighbor's newly remodeled house, which was beautiful. Then another neighbor who was at his mailbox required me to stop again and we chatted for 1/2 hour - all nice but I didn't walk as far or fast I should have! Bob thought I'd been abducted as I was gone so long!

All the Christmas is 'put away' and I've just candles in lanterns on the front porch, lights in the gazebo for the dark evenings, and candles in the living room for enjoyment while having that afternoon cup of tea.
Today I'm making Mac & Cheese (the 'posh' recipe) for Jasmin who will be stopping by for supper.
Have a pleasant weekend dear.

I love these photos, Marilyn. I love them all the more because there IS no snow and this is just perfect -- you can enjoy without being IN it!

Those photos are the winters of my dreams. I love snow! We haven't had any yet either, but then we don't get much here in the south.

I wake up every morning, look out the window, and announce, "no snow". Tim laughs. I keep hoping even as the rain pours down. Lovely to imagine snow. I'll be trying that!

Oooo...love these snowy imagines! And love the lines from A Child's Christmas in Wales... one of my holiday faves, both story and film! Unusually we had NO snow here at Christmas. A more mild winter is predicated for here... and some deny global warming?! :/ Happy days dreaming of snow... ((HUGS))

Love all your snowy scenes! We finally had our first round of wintry snowy weather yesterday. I should have bundled up and taken a few photos, but alas, stayed warm and cozy and watched the thick wet snow fall like magic.

These pictures made my heart sing. It's been so long that I played in the snow, Marilyn. The grandkids spent a day playing up in the snow, and I was so happy they got to experience that. Beautiful photos, really.
