Outrageous!

What are you doing this weekend?
Are you going to go out on a limb,
do something outrageous?
Make some History?
Have some fun?
What's keeping you from putting yourself out there?
What's keeping you from making some history?
Go out and play.
Be a little mischievous!

I have seen this quote before,
but it really struck me when I saw it recently
hanging on the wall of a shop I visited.
Sometimes fear keeps me from putting myself out there.
Even the fear of stepping on someone's toes.
So this weekend I plan on shining and
maybe doing something
outrageous.

HAPPY WEEKEND, dear friends!

Woohoo!Thinking "outside the box" a very good thing. I may have to rethink my weekend.

I hope you do! I'm wearing my hear in two pigtails...some might say a little outrageous for a 38-year-old, but I like it!

I was hardly outrageous working in the garden all yesterday in the 90 degree heat. My neighbor came over and said she was concerned that I was out in the sun for so long, and that I looked a little 'scary' all red and sweaty!! I did work hard, cleaning out the gazebo, washing all the cushion covers, pruning, deadheading, weeding and watering etc. It paid off though when I showered, pulled on cool linen shorts, a thin sleeveless top, poured a chilled glass of rose, and plonked myself down in the spider web free gazebo, to read my new issue of Campagne Decoration! Later we grilled veggie burgers to go with a fresh caprese salad, and poured another glass as we enjoyed dusk, still seated in the gazebo.

As for the timely quote - I consider I've been somewhat well-behaved due to my British upbringing with a strict mother - but also I've made history in the way I came to the US on my own when 18, have traveled a lot, and am continuing this exciting part of life, despite getting long in the tooth, by running off to wild places with my best friend.........and even Bob will be coming on some of the trips next year!

Planning to make more history while still able.
Love, Mary

That is such a terrific quote... and definitely something to keep in mind! I love the idea of living out loud, you know. Although, I'm not necessarily trying to make history or great waves or anything like that. If I can help or inspire one person, I would be happy. I've begun taking part in a creative workshop involving chakra healing/balance and creative journaling--the idea is to meet yourself right where you, who you are at this moment. It's pretty powerful and empowering stuff. I've written on it today, so it rather fits in with your topic. Love this encouragement today, Marilyn! Happy Week ((HUGS))

Well, I'm so behind that this was last weekend but what I did then was go to the lake with a friend and make non-stop art! We didn't cause a lot of trouble, but we had fun!
