Word for the Day - 2020

Celebration

from wikipedia: a social gathering in honor of a specific person, day, or event

Normally on this Memorial Day we gather together to remember,
but most often it includes a celebration of those that have served.
We gather with family and friends in honor and celebration of their lives.

Searching through my pictures to find celebration brought forward color.
It seems like color plays a part of celebration and this picture felt like a celebration.

Making a score when playing a game is worth a celebration.
Wearing a red poppy to remember, a way of honoring and celebrating.
Music can play into celebration too, it adds it's own kind of color.
For many of us this will be a personal celebration
of remembrance and endurance.
A quiet time to remember.

How ever you choose your celebration
have a good day.

What a beautiful way to look at celebrations Marilyn, today here will be quiet, the noisy neighbors have left for their northern retreat; we however are staying in, enjoying the quiet and remembering my loved ones who have passed and enjoying those pleasant memories. Have a wonderful day.

Oh, I love these pictures, Marilyn, as they are filled with color. That piano is something else! And I am wondering what those red poppies are made out of? Are they silk flowers or real? They're so pretty. Yes, scoring in soccer is cause for celebration. Brought back fond memories of Jess playing on the field. Thanks for the colorful post today, Marilyn.

Happy Memorial Day.

I'd say all your photos are the colors of celebration. It is an odd time, isn't it. But still, we find ways to celebrate.
